"iTunes Temp 1" in iTunes directory??

I just noticed that there are 7 files in my iTunes folder named "iTunes Temp #" (replace # with 1-7) and the iTunes file icon with "DATA" at the top. They're all in the 1.3 MB range.

Since they're so small I assume they're not complete CD-R write caches.

So what are they?

No, they are iTunes library databases. Are you using Norton AntiVirus with auto-protect? In earlier releases, that would prevent being able to write to the iTunes library, creating a new "Temp x" file every time you added/removed a library listing.

Very interesting, I am using NAV with AP.

Can i safely delete those files? Or are they necessary to maintain the integrity of my listing?
