iTunes Visualizer needs work

I couldnt help but notice that the iTunes visualizer starts out the same every time. It would be cool if you could download different visuals for it, like Winamp.
What do you think? :)

iTunes has a plugin architecture, so you CAN download other visualizers. My personal favorite is Fountain Music.

Or do you just want adjustments to the standard visualizer? Not sure, since I'm not familiar with Winamp.

I think the default visualisation needs work - it's been the same since OS 9. Regardless, I don't use it anymore.

I use either Kaleidoscope or JewelCase. Both are really wonderful, and a little more unusual than the stale one that comes with iTunes.

Sorry for late reply... Been away from the computer for a while

I'll try some of these different visuals you suggested. Thanks! :)

P.S. - You probably dont know much about Winamp because the only version they ever made for Mac was for OS 9 and it sucked. It's home site is here (Windows version is up to Winamp 5.09.) http://www.winamp.com

i used winamp for years (i used a pc for years). worshipped it. then iTunes came along and it just did almost everything better. winamp does have a) lots of very good options b) a gratuitous amount of other options (it's open source-ish) c) very good audio playback (better than itunes) and d) the best vis in the world (milkdrop)

itunes does the library thing so much better though.

In comparison to WinAmp's visualization selection, iTunes is like a desert. There are a few nice ones, but most of them are similar to visuals that WinAmp had 5+ years ago.

But, honestly, how often does the avg user really need them? If I am listenign to music, iTunes is minimized and I am working or doing something on the computer. If I need music while cleaning etc, I use TivoDesktop and play the music off my tivo itself.

i use visuals when people are round, and i'm playing music. a vis. is much nicer than an itunes screen to look at
