Jaguar on ext. HD?

Now I know I can install jaguar on an external HD and start it from there, but I was wondering what sort of performance loss could I expect, or is there any? Actually I'm planning on installing it on my iPod...is that a good idea?
 
I tried to install Jag on my iPod and it didn't work. I have it installed on my external HD now and it's still much faster than 10.1.
 
Why didn't it work? You say that you installed it on your external HD, but that's shouldn't be any different than your iPod. What did it say when you tried to install it on your iPod?
 
I don't know. I just failed to boot when I installed it on my iPod. it did the same when I tried to install it on my internal drive.
