Slashdot has an article on James Doohan here:
http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/05/06/2223228&mode=thread&tid=99
with other links relating to the news that he isn't doing well these days. This is not good as I'm an avid Star Trek fan and I wouldn't wish poor health on anyone.
Several years ago I met James Doohan at a Star Trek convention in Detroit Michigan and obtained a signed photograph (Nerd Factor 10). In fact, I met Deforest Kelly and George Takai at different Star Trek conventions in the Detroit area and obtained signed photgraphs of them too. This was way back [Harps playing "I can remember it now..."] when Star Trek: The Next Generation was near its peak popularity. Those were the days. Now we have to contend with a new series called Enterprise, that is so far not too bad. I hope the remaining cast live long and prosper.
