I am not well schooled in computers.
I was updating programs on my OSX 10.4 PowerBook and at the time Java was updating something caused the signal from the airport connection to waver and the Java update was corrupted. The other program updates went well.
When I went on line I my computer would and continues to crash when trying to access any site that haS Java.
I then retried to download the Java up date but it wouldn't take. A friend had one of those little plastic things that go on a key chain and have a chip in them and he succesfully downloaded an updated Java into my OSX 10 but still it would crash when encountering a site with Java in it.
I turned off Java and I can only get email and I've reached this site looking for HELP!!!!!!!

... A friend had one of those little plastic things that go on a key chain ...
It's called a "flash drive."

As for your friend's attempt to update Java, he can't so long the Java update's receipt .pkg remains on your computer. I suggest that you find someone who understands issues like this and get him/her to fix your Java installation.

Thank you for your effort on my behalf. I will try to find someone with ability. This is a backcountry area of Idaho. It would be easier to locate a pack of wolves or a lone Grizzly, that I could do myself. I might be able to ship it somewhere, we'll see.
Maybe someone else might post what the steps are to shake that Java update receipt . pkg outta this putter by the numbers, ie: 1 and 2 and.
Thank you again my friend and be safe and be well.
Michael
