Just got a Dual 1.25 that keeps locking up...

I placed a new drive in the computer (20GB for main drive and 120GB for video). I have the computer placed in an enclosure w/ a front door and open back on a computer desk. I have not had any problems with my single processor 450, but this new Dual 1.25 keeps locking up. The screen darkens and a message says to restart my computer and everything locks up. Any one else know what's causing this? I have the most current updated OS.

Could it be a heat/ventilation issue?

Anyone else have this happen?

THAT - is a kernel panic, nasty...

Does it still do it with the new drive removed?

Is the new drive set to master/slave correctly?

More info is needed: does it lock up when you are doing something specific, or just randomly? Can you boot up and log in before it locks sometimes, or does it lock up before you can get that far?
How much RAM do you have in it? I suppose this could be bad RAM, that can create strange problems.

Those dual 1.25s run hotter than your old 450 and the cases are designed in a way to provide good airflow over the processors. So it could be a heat/ventilation issue. Have you tried running it with the front door open?

You're right. Someone showed me how to select "Cable Select" on the older drive. I got memory and opened up the door and re-did the settings on the drive and that seemed to work. I'm pretty sure it was just the drive settings, though.

Damn.. what would I do w/o u guys? ::love::
