JVC Camera to iMovie

Hi, I'm New Here and I just Joined, I though would say hello.

Anyways,

I'm wondering if someone could help me I seem to be having a problem with connecting my JVC Mini DV Camera to import the video feed into the iMovie program.

It Came with a USB port with the camera but iMovies refuse to say that anything is there, but on the other hand its still will load pictures through memory, I'm wondering if there maybe something wrong with iMovie or I'm not sure, I went to go ask help and it said to use Fire Wire, Now is Fire Wire just faster Version than this USB port that came with the camera, or do I need get one in order to fix my problem.

Any answer or help or advice may do I've tried alot of things, but none the less i would appretiate Feed Back.

You need to use firewire to import DV content.

Used to have a JVC and had the same problem. I had to buy a cord to do the transfer. It's a little old but if you search for one of my first posts (maybe my first even), there's the thread on my problem and how I ultimately fixed it (finally sold off the JVC).
