Keynote closed down unexpectedly

9 hours of work is gone im beside myself is there anywhere it might be hidden and able to retrieve, please dont tell me i should have saved or backed up i realise that now but im new to mac and didnt think they had viruses or crashed now i know better.
I really dont want to have to re-imput all the data and work ive done today
Please say something posititve
