Hi all! I'm using a Lacie D2 200Gb Firewire hard drive with my Dual 867 G4 running OSX 10.3.5. I use it for storing samples and recording audio. Everything has been working fine since I got the drive (about 6 months ago). I normally put my Mac to sleep when it's not in use. I went on holiday for a week and shut down my Mac just before leaving and disconnected the power. When I got home I plugged in the computer and powered up. The Lacie drive is not appearing on the desktop, the Mac doesn't seem to know it's connected. I'm still new to Macs and have tried disconnecting leads and rebooting then reconnecting leads but with no luck. Tried Disk Utility but that doesn't see the drive either. Borrowed my friends G4 Powerbook running 10.3 and the drive appears along with all the data intact. Reinstalled Panther on my machine, no Lacie drive. Read a similar thread on this forum which said to reset PRAM. Did this, no change. I read on another forum that Lacie FW drives have been known to "kill" Mac FW ports. Is this true? Any ideas?
