AppleScript's only inbuilt means of providing an on screen display of a result is via a rather ugly "display dialog" that must be dismissed. For many of my AppleScripts I just want a quick notification of the result that goes away by itself after a time I can set, can be placed in any of nine locations, will stack at a given location if more than one is needed) and can be given color and transparency properties.
