large video clip won't download

I have a Canon Powershot digital video camera. I've take a large video clip - not sure how long exactly as I just let it run during my kids school play. I've got an 8GB chip in. I now can't download the clip using either iPhoto or the software that came with the camera. Is there anything else I can do?Any ideas much appreciated.

yea thats what i would say, see if you can just get into and browse the camera and pull it off manually
 
My suspicion: It's a FAT32 formatted chip and the file somehow manages to be larger than 4GB, which simply doesn't work. At least Mac OS X' understanding of FAT32 doesn't allow it.
 
hm. well, it's just a suspicion i'm having. if it _is_ a problem of the file's size, then a card reader won't do any good, yes.
