LaTex, I need your help

I havn't used LaTex for more than 10 years. I've downloaded it from the wen (using i-Installer).

I need the help from an experioenced user to write my first LaTex document. Can anybody send me a minimal document, writing something like "Hello World" and including an image (like a JPG or TIFF)?

I use iTexMac, and have downloaded and installed the following ipackages: freetype2, ghostscript 6, imagemagicx, latex2rtf, libwmf, texbinaries and texmf.

Personnaly i use Texshop for more than one year without difficulties. It is easy.

It contains PDFLaTex so you don't need GS anymore.

Thanks for your help. I finaly found my way through LaTex but first "reverse engineering" a document with pdf2latex....

I've read that I need GS for importing the images... but i'm not so sure about which software does what. I know that I also have pdflatex.

Output is already of impressive quality, even if I just begin.
