launchbar replacement

Hi folks,

I just downloaded the new version of launchbar and it's incredible! I may say: exactly what I was looking for. Anyway, 19 bugs for such a simple progamm are too much for my taste.
So, is there any similar programm for free? Something I can type commands to launch any kind of programm, open anykind of folder and also open some files...?

tnx!

Sam

pay the 19 bucks. LaunchBar IS incredible. It has made app-launching much, much faster. you don't have to browse a list of hundreds (or your directory structure *gasp*) of apps. only hit apple-esc (i've set it to that, i think) and type the name of the app. or a shortcut even, like ow for OmniWeb or ma for Mail... :)

QuicKeys is good. I like the that I have one set icons just to connect to my server so I don't have to put in the IP address, name and password.

Can also try Keyboard Maestro.

You could add your servers to your Favorites, then you wouldn't have to enter any user name or password. After you mount a volume, drag it to your Favorites. When you get the connect box, check Add to Keychain.

With QuicKeys there is a tiny little dock that I can make with all my servers in it. There are usually 10-20 in there. I just click on the icon and it connects. I don't have to anything besides that one click. And for some reason it connects to the server faster than Apple+K

Plus QuicKeys can do a hell of a lot more. Kind of like macros.

When I make a FileMaker database I always add 4 fields to each database - date created, date modified, time created, time modified. It takes a lot of time to set all the attributes just the way I want them. Plus I have to do it all over for every database. I did this with QuicKeys instead. I just select the database and run the script. The 4 fields are added in seconds just the way I want them. It is a real time saver.
