LDAP with 10.3.9 client not working

I am trying to join a 10.3.9 iMac to log into a managed account and when I restart I do not have the option to chose a LDAP account I ony see the local accounts. I have added in the directory access under the LDAP the server with the start IP of 192.168.1.3 and the end address of 192.168.1.3. There is no SSL and it work just fine on all the 10.4.3 clients. I have restet the PRAM without any success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Macmarty, in the terminal on a 10.4 client and the 10.3 one type 'dsconfigldap -show' without the quotes and compare your results.
See if that gets you anywhere.
