Leopard Finder Viewing Preferences??

Hey, I don't know if i was dreaming, but i seem to remember Tiger somehow knowing all of my choices on whether i wanted list, column, or thumbnail views for each folder. For example, i would have a small list view of folders on my HD, but when i opened a new one, it automatically changed to thumbnail view. Any thoughts or suggestions? Maybe I had once-upon a time changed a setting somewhere that i now forget. Any help is appreciated.

Get into the view you like, then go View -> View Options, then tick the top option "Always open in.."

It seems to keep the view for the new windows that you had last.
So there is no separate preference for it any more..
