How important is L3 cache? I do light video editing (but I'm looking to get more serious soon, as I'm a film major)...is it gonna make that huge a difference that I should choose a powerbook or powermac over the iMac? Also, when it comes to video editing, how important is the graphics card? I know that since Quartz Extreme, the graphics card does very little in the way of the GUI...about all I can see it being worth is playing games, after a certain point. I mean, is 64mb of VRAM good enough, or should I buy a powermac JUST so I can upgrade my video card every year?
 
Actually since Quartz Extreem the video card does much more. It is the CPU that does less. I can't say anything about video editing though sorry...
 
There should be no need to upgrade the video card unless our technology moves faster than it does now.

But you will want to get a machine that you can upgrade as your capabilities grow.
