Lightning close by knocked out power.Flipped breakers but then came back on.
Rebooted intell iMac 10.4.11 connected to DSL router, no problem.
Rebooted eMac PPC OX10.3.9 and showed date set back to 1970, and internet settings had changed. Reconfigured, but would not connect. Log said 'unable to connect, broken pipe, configuration Daemon not found (no longer available)'
Ran Apple hardware check disk and got error code 2GMC/3/13:built in.

Every time I tried to connect .....No PPoE server found, ethernet cable not connected. Checked and even tried new cable.
Noticed lights on router port for the eMac did not light up when eMac tried unsuccessfully to connect, but same port did light up and connected for my laptop with no problem.

Also connected a new ethernet cable to the port on the DSL router that the eMac was originally connected to, but did not work for laptop. So that port may be blown.

There are 3 ports on the router, port 2 and 3 work fine, thus I have isolated the problem to the eMac. It functions fine off line but will not connect. Reconfigured network settings correctly - but no luck.
I'm not that techie - so I don't know what to do, and when searching by error code and Daemon problem Apple Knowledge base is way too general.
Please help - it will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance - Andy

The AHT code refers to either network or MLB.
With GMC 3/ it would be more likely network;

Check Network Target Component is: Procedure:
2GMC /3 /b built-in Main Logic Board (Ethernet cell) a) Disconnect any connected network/crossover cable, then retest
2GMC /4 /b built-in Main Logic Board (Ethernet cell) b) If error disappears, check network configuration (hub, switch, etc).
2GMC /5 /b built-in Main Logic Board (Ethernet cell) c) If error persists, replace Main Logic Board

(And also 2GMC /a /b built-in Main Logic Board (Ethernet cell) a) Shutdown, power up, then retest)

I hope it didn't fry the MLB...

Try connecting you eMac to your laptop via Firewire, and share the internet connection from the laptop. It requires the laptop to be on if you want to surf on the eMac, but it'll work. Don't worry about configuring the network over Firewire, your Mac's will handle it automagically.
