Lindows.com has Chimera?!

No - this is not OUR chimera - this is a browser some months older then "our" chimera - it’s odd that "our" chimera - is also called chimera (and is also a browser!) - however if you read the mailing list archives at chimera.mozdev.org you will find out that this is one reason for the name-change to "Navigator" or "Chimera Navigator"

oh, then their name change is even more sad, isn't it? chimera, no wait, there IS one already. navigator. oops... hmm... let's call it 'internet explorer', as it's a software to explore the internet. oh...

no,no - call it communicator, cause it is used to communicate on forum sites. or maybe taxi or opretta so it won't get confused so easily with other browsers. unique names are hard to find these days after all.:D

But Navigator is already used also, by Netscape.

I don't know why people have a problem with Chimera being renamed Navigator. First of all, there is no Netscape Navigator for OS X. Second, Chimera is based on Mozilla, which is Netscape's source code, so why not call it Navigator? If any browser is entitled to that moniker, it's Chimera. Chimera shares the same mission that Navigator originally did - provide a best of breed browser that doesn't include other bloat like Composer, Mail, or ICQ.

I like the Navigator title much more than Chimera. It harkens back to the "golden" age of the Internet...
