Linksys ADSL2MUE and connecting to internet

Hi There!

I have just bought myself a powerbook g4 as a christmas present to myself and I have to say, it is SO sweet.

But I've got a problem with connecting to the internet.

I have a Linksys ADSL2MUE Modem and connect it to my powerbook via the ethernet connection. In the network bit of system preferences it connects fine (there is a green light), but when I load up safari no webpage loads up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ps. I found this website whilst trying to find a solution on google and have just registered, it is brilliant, just what i needed, so thank you very much!!!

Is the PowerBook getting an IP address dynamically? Do you have to set the DNS nameservers and domain name manually or does the ISP provide that information through DHCP? Check your Network settings under the Ethernet connection's TCP/IP tab to make sure.

I can get an IP address fine, its set as DHCP
