Little Thread of Photoshop Tips

I'll start.
Ever tried cropping something on a single colored background, like an OS X window with a drop shadow on top of a white background? What a pain!
No more, however! :D In Photoshop, simply go to the Image menu, the select Trim. Photoshop will trim away all the excess space based on the top-right or bottom left pixel color, right up to the first pixel that's not that color. It even does transparency!

Post your miscellaneous little Photoshop tricks!

If you have lots of layers and you want to select the blue box but don't remember which layer it is, just right click on the box and a list of layers will pop up and you can choose the layer with the blue box name. Really easy if you name your layers.

Also control+apple+h because Adobe is to good to follow the apple+h rule to hide apps.

While you're in the Quick-Mask mode (press Q) you can see your mask in monochrome by pressing Cmd-~.

You can switch to your channels (Red, Green and Blue for an RGB, etc) by pressing Cmd-1, Cmd-2 etc. Switch back to the composite image with Cmd-~.

For a really cool artsy effect, apply filters selectively to particular channels. To the channel that looks ugliest, apply a radial blur.

You can fill a selection by pressing Shift-Delete.

You can copy a layer quickly by dragging the layer onto the New-Layer icon in the Layers palette.

There is a button for adjustment layers on the Layers pallette, I think. I tend not to use them as they make it too difficult to keep track of everything. However, they do have their uses.

Damn, I've been searching for this one for a long time! I got it a few times by accident and never found it back... Thanks!
Adjustment layers in the layers menu or in the layers window popup menu... :)

You can select a certain layer by using the arrow tool and Apple-clicking on the part you want to select... The layer becomes active...

To create really trippy effects, set the gradient tool to "Difference" and start putting linear gradients in. For best effect, use contrasting colors, like orange & blue, or yellow & purple, or use one of the spectral presets.
