Living in London?

Anyone here live in London? I have thought many times considering moving there and I was wondering what the real pros and cons are. I am originally from New York, so I know how expensive cities can get! I keep hearing that the crime rate is worsening, but maybe those ar ejust the few incidents. I have been to London about 4 times, and was wondering how people like living there.

Sorry for the double post, but FYI I am a dual citizen of the US and UK.

The pros: free health care.(don't pay any attention to the 3-month waiting list for medical treatment.)

The cons: socialistic high-tax environment that has the weather of Cleveland and Moscow, except if you go south(or any other polar direction for that matter) to escape it, they speak another language (that you don't understand) and they don't like you as much as you'd like.

I thought about it after my last visit (which was a 1-day stopover on our way to Israel back in 1998), but I don't think I really want to leave the States, despite all the problems we have.
