"lock" icon in safari?

I just noticed this, using safari that came with 10.2.8 update

go to https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rh9-errata.html and check the top right corner of your window. Is it just me or is there a lock? anyone has an idea what it's supposed to be?

Didn't notice it before 10.2.8, but could have been there.

Yup. It's always been there. Any time you're about to enter your credit card number, or anything like that, look for the lock, to be sure the site is encrypted.

I first noticed it when i went to administer my site via the web control panel, normally i used IE for those things.
