locked folders

I was doing some work on an ibook and burned it to cd so i could copy them to a desktop machine, but the folders are locked, how can i unlock these folders (the locked checkbox in info is greyed out) and when i unlock in the "Ownership & Permissions" and try to change any settings it gives the error "The operation could not be completed"? Any help is appreciated. thanks
 
Any time you burn data to CD the files and folders get locked. I think there is a bug in Jaguar though. Get Info won't allow me to lock or unlock folders (check box is disabled) but I am able to unlock files.

There is a command you can run in terminal too unlock the files but I don't know what it is. I think File Buddy may be able to unlock files.
