Logging in Root

do a search for this, there have been innumerable threads explaining exactly how to do it...

Go to Applications->Utilities->Terminal and type sudo passwd root and hit Return. It will then ask for your Admin account password. You'll then enter the password you have chosen for root, then verify it. Type exit and hit Return. Quit Terminal. You might want to take a trip to System Preferences->Login->Login Window Tab and make sure that the box isn't checked to automatically log you in. Quit System Preferences and go to Apple Menu->Log Out (or SHIFT+CMD+Q). At the Login Screen enter root as the Name, and the password you chose earlier and your in. Be careful when logged in as root (as I'm sure you know).
