Looking for some publication software...

I need some kind of publication software that I can use to make simple flyers, posters, pamphlets, etc. Back when I had a PC (oh so many years ago, well 2001) I had Microsoft Publisher which did exactly what I need.

I've tried using MS Word and so far it's done okay, but it's quite limited when you want to piece something like this together. Is there such an app for OS X? Oh yeah, did I mention I wanted something simple and cheap (>$100).

exactly what other features do you need? today's word processors are pretty equivilent to the desktop publishing apps of 10-15 years ago. most apps with anything more are designed for professional use and can cost big $$$, athough some are much more affordable with your student discount.
 
It's just really hard to line-up graphics and text in Word. It seems you can never get it centered correctly, etc. I just remember that MS Publisher was really nice in that you could move things around w/o the app restricting you to a grid or table.

I found this app called MacPublisher Pro and it seems to be what I am looking for. At $15 that's not a bad price, either!

It does look well… on the screenshot. I wonder about its real capabilities… But anyway, it does suit your needs perfectly, IMHO.
