Loses network connectivity G5.

My g5 at home always seems to lose network connectivity, over night, It's getting tiring to go into systems preferences and reconnecting to my DSL. I have turned off the energy saver, It fixed my monitor solution, It did the same thing with my monitor, turning off the power saving helped that solution. It would disconnect my monitor and give an error saying no connection found and I would always have to restart monitor and refresh it with my PC. Anyone else experience this? If anyone has a solution to this network Prob. it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using DSL with PPOE? If so, it acts like a modem by disconnecting when there is no network activity after some period of time.

You might be able to get arround this by simply having some applicaiton perform network activity periodically. This might be as simple as having your email program automatically check for email every 5-15 minutes. Or you could leave a browser open on a web page that automaticaly reloads itself periodically. (A stock quote page or something similar...)
