Lost Explorer Bookmarks

I opened Internet Explorer (5.2.3) on my Mac G4 Os X (10.3.5) and all my bookmarks (thousands of them!) are gone. I didn't do a thing to loose them! What happened? Where are they? I know there is a trick to getting the back/visible but can't remember.
I've rebuilt the desktop (couldn't find the three files LSApplications; LSClaimedTypes & LSSchemes recommended to remove), run desk Utility and repaired premissions. Checked preferences. Still no old bookmarks.
Didn't upgrade any software . . just gone?? :eek:

See if the Favorites.html is here;

user>library>Preferences>Explorer

If the file is there, drag it out to the desktop, restart Explorer, quit and put the file back.

If you've run Safari, the bookmarks would have been imported to that.

Bookmarks are one of the things I have set to backup daily.

Do a search on your system for Favorites, maybe you'll find them.
