LOST - my Dual Monitor on G4 x.3.5

After the last "security" update - my 2nd monitor fails to show the desktop.

It has a signal and shows only a bright grey screen... like in the initial start up mode. But only one monitor switches to the desktop image and the cursor will NOT move from one screen to the other. ???

Please Help Me Oh-Bee-Whan! You are my only hope

I vaugely remember that there was/is a thing I can do at the command/terminal mode that will enable both monitors???? but I can't seem to find any reference to it and my online queries have yeilded no favorable results.

Anyone HERE got THE answer or can ya point me to where it is

I will eternally greatful for any assistance
