I doing this for a friend who has a 2000 apple imac m5521

I believe the ram is only 64mb
She was given this by her niece and had not used it in some months. She primarily only uses it for playing games as she was not able to get internet due to it having a 9.2 operating system.
I helped in trying to contact apple directly and they asked if she had the orginal discs. She did not and the problem is trying to find the discs. I believe she stated the rep had the discs for a whopping 99.00.
She was told that the only was to get a new password is to reinstall the program. She was told that only 9.2 would do.
I was going to see if a linux cd with some games would work but she put in a music cd and no that is stuck in the drive. What can I do? Is there some was to retrieve the password? I was told to look for a panther installing disc application system disc.
