I don't know what happened to the sound on my imac. I checked system preference under sound and mute was not checked, so I am out of ideas. Any suggestions?
Did you try other speakers or even headphones? Turn the plug few times and check, if you hear any noise. Also make sure that no other output device is chosen but the line-out. Btw, how many devices can you see there?
