MAC crashes when exporting from iMovie

I produce video for a football team and we have 2 G5's that we use for non-linear editing. Each is hooked to a 4x4 switcher and DV converter which is hooked to a monitor, DVD recorder, and VCR. We have constant problems exporting video from the Mac to the VCR or anywhere but a hand-held MiniDV camera via FireWire. I had the system working again last week but now I'm having a problem exporting again. The crash report mentions Quicktime Audio and Apple Audio but I am a little out of my league beyond simply reading the report. Looking for some help.

Booker, I don't see how your suggestion would help resolve the problem in this case.
First, the thread is from 4 years ago, so he probably doesn't even have that Mac or those peripherals any more.
And if he still would have the same problem... The import worked before, and finding a "professional video program" for a system that is still running Mac OS X 10.3.9... what good would that do? Any program still supporting systems older than 10.5 are likely suggest a customer having crashes or problems simply to upgrade to the latest compatible OS and then run their program.
But, the program used here worked before...

msmc, (if you still have the Mac and the problem you described with it, and it's still running the above mentioned versions of Mac OS X and iMovie) could you run the Software Update to see what applications have never versions availble for that system? Any update for Quicktime, and iMovie and any other component dealing with the video would be good to apply, if there are updates.
You noticed correctly the components (lines 1-12) that were on the chain to the crash.
Updates on any related component could help with the crashes.
Other than that... were there any other apps running while the import was going and the crash occurred? Were there any other peripherals, other than mouse and keyboard, that were in use on the same time? Do these crashes happen only on one of the systems? Are there any other firewire cables that could be tried while importing?
