Mac: download doesn't start automatic

Hello,

My question is the following:

If a want to download a file with safari or firefox on my macbook, then I have to click on the link with my "right mouse button" and click on "download linked file" to download the file.
Normally I had to click on the link and the download started automaticaly.

How can I change this again?

AFAIK, if it's a file you want to download, then you would see the "Download Linked File" text, whereas if it's an App, then normally you wouldn't ....

If you click the file type link then it should launch the file in a new window/tab ... ie: a music or movie file.

So I'm not sure whether it's what you are trying to download that is playing up or whether or not you need to check your mouse/track pads configurations (System Preferences).
