here's a puzzle.
i began the process of using MobileMe to sync mail on my home and work computers, by first setting my work computer last night to 'merge' and then this morning same on my home computer, both mac os 10.4.11. at the time the home computer sync-ed, the work mac mail dumped my inbox of all but exactly 2 weeks prior to the sync of the home computer. then, later today, while i was checking through all the rules to see if i could find some weird setting that would cause this, the remaining emails were magically dumped, so by the time i finally left work, i had no messages in my primary work email account. other accounts were unaffected. i can still find these messages in the finder with the following path: home>library>mail>pop account>inbox.mbox. any ideas? is this what a virus looks like? i noticed that the junk mail was also affected, but trash was not, nor were any of the subfolders i set up to receive autosorts of catagories like political mail, and club digests.
