Mac OS X 10.4.7

Expert Macintosh...er
Hey everyone,

Right now I am running 10.4.6. and i have suffered many crashes with it (Mac OS X has unexpectedly quit). It also did a double-restart after the instal. Is it worth it to download and instal 10.4.7 after having trouble with 10.4.6. or will it just kill my Mac more?

Thanks

Download the combo installer for 10.4.7.

For intel: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1047combointel.html
Install this one. It shouldn't do any harm. The question, of course, is why your Mac suffers crashes in the first place. While the newer update might fix some problems present in 10.4.6 and earlier versions, it probably won't solve _user_ issues, i.e. if you've installed a system hack or something like unsanity's (they have that name for a reason...) haxies and _those_ are the culprits for your crashes, then the update will do neither harm nor good. You'd have to clean your system.

The _first_ thing to try, btw., is to create a new user account and see whether the crashes happen for that user as well. Make sure that Fast User Switching is _not_ enabled, though, since if both users are logged in, you can't really decide whether one runs okay.

what is the combo? i just installed the regular. also after installing i was palying a game and dialing up to the internet and i had to manually reboot the computer (caz it told me too) and after the reboot it said Mac OS X had to restart after some error thing or something. i sent a report to apple. also, what are these programs and how to i know if I have them? thanks
