Mac OS X 10.4 “Tiger” — $94.99 - Back on Amazon

I believe $79.99, at least i think that was how much it was for Panther with the discount, although going to the apple store online now, lists retail panther for $129.99, and the educational discount as $69.99.

So, it's going to be the first true April fool (pointing to our Tiger April fool thread)?

There's no way they're going to release it April 1st. If you check out the Tiger forum here you'll see that there are still builds being seeded. With only 8 days till April 1st it's not going to happen. I can see that they may give a release day at that time perhaps.

this popped up for a while late last year (november), then disappeared. I wont hold my breath but it is a good sign.

I rekon we can expect a release date annoucement on 1st April.. but it better come true thats all I can say.

as soon as I heard, I preordered mine with the $35 rebate details.
I've got the confirmation email and everything - says my order will ship by May 27th (which is a friday...good time for a party!)

But now the information has been removed from Amazon...they apparently tipped a hat that Apple wasn't ready to tip just yet.

The offer is gone now from the site. It says now "This item is currently not available", also the price is gone as well as the rebate information.

Does this mean Apple's release date is May 27th?

Well Amazon had their little disclaimer that release dates are not definite, but when the rebate info was up, it stated that qualifying purchases had to be made by may 31... Amazon doesn't charge you on a pre-order, until the item is in stock and shipped. So it leads me to believe that by the end of May, we'll be seeing Tiger

this is all just my own observations, and personal experience, so I could very well be wrong (just don't tell my wife I admitted that!)

Not so! As of today, March 27:

Step 1. Print the rebate forms now: Read the rebate details below, under "Current Rebates": If the text indicates the rebate is "(in-box)," you will find the form enclosed in the product packaging when it arrives to you. If instead you see a rebate form below, print that rebate form now, since it may not be included in the product packaging. Rebate forms appearing below will remain on this page for a limited time. ( More about mail-in rebates.)

Step 2. Submit: When your order arrives, fill out the rebate forms and mail to the address on the form. Be sure to include all materials required on the form (UPC, receipt, etc.).

Step 3. Wait: In 6-8 weeks your rebate will arrive by mail.

Get the rebate form and save it! It could disappear at any time!

I posted my thing when it was gone from the site entirely. Now it's back up.
