Mac OS X won't boot, please help.

I started up my iBook just before, and it's booting up on OS 9.2 and doesn't seem to be booting up in OS X. Can't figure it out. Is there a way to select which OS to boot up with in the start up?

Two ways:

Set the Startup Disk in the Startup Disk control panel and restart.

or

Restart, hold down the OPTION key until disks appear. Select disk and continue. (This does not change the setting for the next restart however.)

I had a similar problem with not being able to get into OSX, (or OS9 for that matter - my PBook refused to boot!!) Although I could bring up the disk selector using the option key, it wouldn't find the OSX disk.

Eventually, I found out that you can change the startup disk from the OSX install CD/DVD. If you boot into that (hold down C?), then go to the Installer menu, you can change the startup disk from there.

Hope this helps!

This only works when the operating systems are on separate disks or partitions.
