here we go...I just partiioned my mac today so I can run windows. I have an external hard drive with ALL my data on it. When I start the computer and choose the windows boot up my hard drive is not tthere. When I do a disk utility using windows it tells me I need to format it....therefor losing ALL the data first.

My question...Is there any option since I have 190 gigs of data (music, emails, docs, etc) on this hard drive. I want to keep it on the hard drive but use it when I am using windows...not just the mac osx leopard.

Thanks for your help.

I'm guessing the hard drive is formatted as "Mac OS Extended", HFS. This is not readable by Windows. You need to use MacDrive or similar on XP to see the drive as it is, or reformat it to MS-DOS (FAT 32).
