MAC OSX see's WinXP shared folder as a local folder

I have a mac running OSX 10.3.9, connected to a PC running Windows XP Home SP2. At first my MAC could see PC shared folders as a network alias icon (a blue ball in a transparent box kinda icon). Now only half of the shared folders have that icon, and the rest have a standard MAC OSX folder icon. When I try and open this folder its empty and when I 'Apple I' for more info it tells me its a local folder, not a network folder.

Can anyone help?

There are a couple of bugs the Finder still has when it comes to network environments. Use the Apple+K keycombo in the Finder and type 'smb://your.pc.ip.adress' or 'smb://yourpcname'. This is the most reliable method to access your files on the PC.
And welcome to the forum.
