Over the past few months I've noticed that my mac has been running increasingly slow both online and off. I'm no computer whiz, but I'm not what you'd call technologically illiterate, and so I've tried just about everything I could possibly think of to boost my mac's performance to no aveil. This is basically my last hope in handling this problem without having to spend a whole bunch of money for someone to come take a look at it.

Run maintenance with OnyX - periodic maintenance, caches cleaning etc.
Make sure you have at least 15 % free space at all times on the hard drive.
Make sure there are not hundreds of added fonts per user.
If that makes no difference, what Mac, which version of OS X, how much empty space....?
