I have a wifi network using a Linksys WRT54GC. It connects my pc running XP and an iBook running Mac OS X 10.4.6. The problem is, i cant use the printer connected using LPT1 on my PC. Ive searched the printer using the Printer Utility on my iBook, but doesnt show anything.

Is there anyway to print directly from Mac to my PC-connected printer?

Which model printer do you have? There are exceptions, but as a rule of thumb you cannot use a USB driver to communicate with a networked printer. You may, however, be able to use one of the Gutenprint/GIMP-print or LinuxPrinting CUPS drivers if your printer is supported.

The HP DeskJet 930c is well-supported by GutenPrint/GIMP-print and LinuxPrinting. (One problem solved.)

The fact that you are connected to the Wintel PC via a parallel printer port is irrelevant to this discussion. (No problem needs no solution.)

If you are having problems reaching the Gutenprint and LinuxPrinting websites, there is something awry with your setup--particularly your DNS. You need to try again. If the problem persists, fix it. As a stopgap measure, then you should try from a different computer and, possibly, a different Internet connection. (Problem yet to be solved.)

BTW, this the URL for a CUPS printer driver for your HP DeskJet 930c.
