I cannot connect my 2006 macbook pro to landlord's netgear router. It won't connect at all. I can connect my windows XP laptop though with a netgear rangemax wireless PC card (not without it even though my ibm t41 has wireless built into it). Password to the router is 13 digits long, 64 bit (according to the landlord) and WEP encrypted. I tried adding $ symbol but then it won't let me add some of the other password digits. Using Mac osx 10.4.11, 2.16ghz Intel core 2 duo. any help would be appreciated. thanks...

I have had a similar problem and found a really strange way to fix it that may work for you. I have a netgear router and it will connect to all PCs but no macs. With each mac that has tried I have taken it through these steps to fix it. I go to airport and then Open Network Preferences. Click Assist Me and then Diagnostics. Click Yes, any of the locations, choose Airport under network port configuration, and select the wireless network. After this it should say that the internet appears to be working correctly and it will be connected.
Mine asks for a password, and I use WEP pasword - even though the password my roommate set up is not 13 digits, it works somehow under WEP.
It is a weird process, but any mac that tries to connect to my netgear router requires this process to happen before it will connect. Good luck!
