Macbook pro won't connect to internet (10.4)

I'm pretty much completely new to macs and have had a macbook pro running 10.4 for about a month. Today I plugged in a USB air card (verizon) which basically configured itself. When I was done using it, I could no longer connect to the internet. I'm using a Linksys wireless router and my pc picks it up fine. Connection is set to automatic and airport is on. What do I do? Thanks for any help.

btw - I searched for this, but most results were a bit beyond my understanding.

Forgot to mention earlier - Doesn't work when ethernet cable is plugged in either. I'm totally confused.

Can you please post a screen grab of the "Open Network Preferences"?
I would like to understand it a little bit better... Also is there any error message on the Console? (under utilities)

I don't have any way to post it unfortunately. I could describe whichever part you're looking for if you want. Thank you for trying to help me out.

Can you please verify what are the options available on Network Preferences?
Do you have AirPort, and Ethernet available? What is the AirPort Status?
Is there any preferred networks configured? Do you use DHCP? If yes, have you renew the DHCP Lease?
