I went through all the different troubleshooting.
I Did Command+S
put in /sbin... and this is what came up
/sbin/fsck -yf
**/Dev/rdisk0s2
**Root file System
**Checking non-journaled HFS plus volume
**Checking extent overflow file
** Checking Catalog file
Incorrect block count for file temp8904727
(it should be 66 instead of 0)
Keys out of order
(4, 6233)
**Rebuilding catalog B-tree
**The volume Macintosh HD could not be repaired
/dev/rdisk0s2 (hfs) Exited with signal 8.
Can ANYONE help reading what the bold means.. The closest Apple store is an hour away I really don't want to spend my whole day off or tons of money fixing this..
FYI- A week ago my computer was acting up so I turned it off and it turned on, chimed, and went to the apple logo with spinning wheel and wouldnt leave that. Somehow holding the power button for 10 seconds it turned it back on.. Now I had to shut it down and it does the same thing but instead of staying at the logo+spinning wheel it turns off after a few seconds of being on.
This is so fustrating.. I got a Mac so i wouldn't have to replace hard drive after hard drive like I did ALL the time with my PC..
