MACS RULE
Hello everyone, Just installed a brand new webapp at work with 13!!! 150gb hdd's just thought into making my home network have a game/file server.

I have my 1.42ghz Macmini hooked up in a closet with the printer...multiple docks for the ipods to be hooked up and charged (pretty cool we can remotely add/delete songs while they are there too).
Just wanted to install OSX Server on the mini instead of buying an XServe or Raid Server.

Any ideas on how difficult it will be or will it work perfectly when i install over current osx 10.3.9?

Just dont know what i should invest in first...the Xserve or just OSX Server for my current mac.

Thanks

-Justin

The mac mini is a good system for mac os x, i have used it for and will restar using it as a mail / webserver. The mac mini ofcourse is not to expandable (e.g.harddisks, memory), if that is a concern, do not use the mac mini as a server.

If you buy the server software now and a xserve later, you will in general end up with 2 server packages. If money is available, buying xserve is a better solution as you will not end up with to server packages.

Any recent mac will do perfect as server.

Good luck, Kees
