Just wanted to post some good experiences regarding MacOS X Server and xserve. I've read the Apple discussion boards and they're all full of people telling how something doesn't work and how something could be done better...
I just wanted to say that I have had only good experiences using xserve. I work as an system designer and we have an xserve and 12 1Ghz powermacs. Xserve is serving AFP (home directories for users) and FTP. DHCP and DNS are on a different Linux server. We use xserve also as an print server for network printers (xerox, hp, apple, etc.).
And this all works perfectly. I haven't had any trouble with Xserve or MacOS X Server. Server software is very easy to use and I'm a very happy system administrator
