Heya all you Mac tech heads.
I am posting this mesage for a friend who has spent his last week trying to get MacOSX to install on his brand spanking new G4 Tower.
It will not install! Basically what happens is when he boots from the OSX install CDR it goes to the intro MacOSX screen and then the rainbow wheel spins for ever. it hangs on the startup and never gets to the install dialogs.
- He has tried installing it on another Mac and it works fine.
- He has updated the firmware.
- He has reformatted the hard drive removed ram, cards etc. no luck
- He had a mac consultant and service technician come in and run it thorugh the paces with Norton and a bunch of other tools. no luck the guy was stumped. and he was getting paid!!
Anyone have any ideas whats up? I was thinking maybe its the motherboard or interface card with the CDR drive or something. I am stumped as well.
