MacTheRipper alternative

I was ripping a bunch of DVD's a while ago so I had my mac going with MacTheRipper and I also had a PC going using a program called DVD Decrypter. Anyways, I never realized how slow MacTheRipper really is compared to the PC. The PC would take 1/3 of the time! anyways-I was just wondering if there was an alternative to MacTheRipper that is faster?

Edit: I feel I need to explain what I mean because after some googing, many people suggested handbrake but thats not what I'm needing. I need something that will take a dvd to my hard drive directly like mactheripper does

You could try Fairmount, which works with VLC to mount an unencrypted image of the DVD which can be used by any application. So once Fairmount does its thing, you can just copy the data to your HD in the Finder.

There's also an old app called OSEx. I've never used it personally, but it has some good (and recent) reviews on MacUpdate, so I guess it still works.

I've never done speed comparisons, but Fairmount has works with discs MTR and Handbrake both crashed on.
