Macworld *Designed for Microsoft Windows XP*

Just noticed in the April 2002 edition of Macworld magazine Canon has an ad in there for it's digital camera line.

No mention of compatability with all the mac software and hardware in the rest of the Mac Magazine, but they did manage to slap on a "Designed for Microsoft Windows XP" logo!

well... they are mac compatible, but they're designed for windoze xp.....
i.e. the cameras are in colors green and blue and they look damn ugly.

I've also noticed some ads for Windows-compatible and even some Windows machines in MacWorld lately. I hate this ad stuff.

You know what pisses me off even more? There's like a 20-page catalog at the back of each issue. I get enough catalogs as it is, to have a fourth of the magazine taken up by another one.

I wish some of our Mac magazines would concentrate on writing about the Mac rather than advertising -- even MacAddict suffers from the catalog-in-the-back thing.

Mabye it's the manufacturer's subtle way of saying that "yes, it does happen to work with Windoze XP, also" but the Mac compatability is just obvious and assumed :D
