I'm using Mail.app 3.6 with two IMAP accounts(one is gmail), and frequently get corrupted messages. Rebuilding changes the messages that are corrupted, but often corrupts messages that were okay before. I have the messages available for online use (option keep "All messages and their attachments"), as I travel often. However, if I discard these with the option "Don't keep copies of any messages" then things work fine (except that I cannot use those mailboxes offline).
The corrupted messages are often the ones with attachments, and for instance out of 13 messages from a scanner (with .pdf attachments) I always get 3-4 corrupted (missing attachment) messages after rebuilding the mailbox (the corrupted messages are not always the same). So this seems to be a problem with the synchronization of Mail.app. When using Thunderbird this doesn't seem to happen.
Please let me know if there is any practical solution to this problem, other than using another application...
