I use Mail.app as my desktop e-mail client to access my Gmail account. In the past, I used the POP system and now I use IMAP because I can have both Mail.app and Gmail in sync. However, with IMAP, Mail.app only downloads the headings of the messages and it takes time to read each message as Mail.app downloads a message when I click on it.
I have set on the Advanced tab of my Account settings on "Keep copies of messages for offline viewing" to "All messages and their attachments" but that hasn't worked apparently. Hence, I can't download e-mail to work offline like I could with POP, unless I click all new messages so that Mail.app downloads them.
In short, I would like Mail.app to work with IMAP like it did with POP. All message contents are automatically downloaded so that I can access them quickly and be able to read/work my e-mail offline.
